Frontier of Dawn

During Cannes Film Festival, I had the opportunity to watch Philippe Garrel's "Frontier of dawn". Though the movie was bashed by the audience and did not get any award, though I did not really like the movie, I liked the pitch : the story of a photographer in love with his model and that is why I went to the theatre to watch it. Actually, the movie does not really deal with photography and the particular link a camera creates between a photographer and his model. Only the beautiful black and white of the movie can relate us to it...

To explore this link further, you can check out Steven Shainberg's Fur starring Nicole Kidman inspired from Diane Arbus' life.

One final comment. I like the shape of your blog--it doesn't propose an exhaustive list of fashion photographers, but your choice of photographers defines your vision and the elements you have chosen to discuss. Your selection of pictures and videos does point out a certain history and way through the plethora of image we are constantly bombarded with. Thanks for your contribution to our course. 15
